BookMattic s Rating 2 StarsGoodreads Rating289 StarsI did learn a few things from this book about SEO and blogging so it wasn t a total waste of time but overall the book was just an overview of online marketing and turning the people who visit your page into paying customersTurn Clicks Into Customers didn t go very far into the nitty gritty of online marketing So it lacks in the details we could easily find elsewhere for free on the internet itself It is also a bit outdated in some areas like when talking about Google not that I m an expert at this type of stuff Since the book was published in 2010 many new products social media and apps have been created but are not mentioned here because it didn t exist at the time Several of the websites the author chose to include in this book are obsolete or starting to become less relevant Not to say that all the suggested tools or sites in this book are useless There are some good pointers about how to attract people to your page and how to keep them there throughout the whole checkout process The structure of the book is clearly laid out and in a logical order which makes it easier to follow along and understand the basic concepts covered The most beneficial chapters for me first of all were Chapter 1 Search Marketing Overview The Essentials Chapter 2 Performing Organic Search Marketing Driving Low Cost Traffic and Chapter 3 Converting Organic Search Marketing The Five Pillars because it was all about the basics of SEO and what to do with the people that come to your site which has been helpful for me in setting up this blog Second was Chapter 8 Social Networking and Blogging The New Way to Get Conversions was talking about how you can use social media and blogs to help increase traffic and interest in your site not necessarily to make sales The book was very specific about the fact that when using social media you don t want to try and sell your product or your website rather it suggested that you use social media for your business to create conversations about your site Basically you have to go about using social media with your business as an opportunity to reach out to your customers in a friendly non salesman type of wayThe rest of the chapters of Turn Clicks Into Customers had useful tid bits here and there but overall the book is outdated and is due for an updated version
